The French football club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has completed its first major transfer of the Ligue 1 summer season, signing Real Madrid midfielder Paul Pogba for a reported €45 million.

Pogba, who was previously linked with moves to Manchester United and Juventus, will join PSG on a five-year deal from the Spanish giants. The 26-year-old is expected to be one of the key players in the French side's bid to win their second consecutive Ligue 1 title this season.

"Paul is a world-class player and we're delighted to bring him to Paris," said PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi. "He brings experience, skill and leadership to our team, and we're excited to see what he can do for us."

Pogba has made over 700 appearances for his previous clubs, including 198 Premier League games for Manchester United and 134 Serie A matches for Juventus. He also won three European Championships with France, as well as four league titles with both clubs.

The signing of Pogba marks a significant coup for PSG, who have struggled to compete with rivals such as Lyon and Monaco in recent seasons. However, the arrival of the former Manchester United star could give them a much-needed boost ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Overall, the move by PSG to sign Pogba is a clear indication that they are serious about challenging for the top spot in Ligue 1 this season. With the addition of the experienced midfielder, the French side now look set to be one of the most formidable teams in Europe.
