The Côte d'Ivoire national football team has defeated Nice F.C. in the Coupe de France, earning them their first win on the continent.
In the opening quarter-hour, Clermont Foot was awarded the ball after a corner kick and set up a strong attack, but it wasn't to be as Nice were able to break through for the only goal of the match.
Boudaoui scored his second goal of the game with a superb pass from Mohamed Ould El Haddadi which found the back of the net in the 28th minute. The French international was also involved in another assist for the goal, setting up the third goal for the Côte d'Ivoire.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Yacouba Diop made two crucial saves to prevent the hosts from scoring any more points. His first save came in the 41st minute when he saved a low cross by Nice's striker, while his second came just before halftime when he denied a dangerous free-kick attempt by Nice's midfielder.
The Côte d'Ivoire have now won their first match at this level against a top European side, with their victory giving them confidence that they can continue to challenge for honours in Europe. The next match is a tough one against the defending champions Paris Saint-Germain, but the Côte d'Ivoire fans will be hoping that they can come out on top.
